If you can’t get enough of this year’s Oscars ceremony, then you’ve landed at the right place as we’ve compiled a special list of Oscar nominees who got royally snubbed

Oscar nominees who got snubbed

Oscars 2022 has been telecast and enjoyed by movie-buffs the world over. For better or for worse, regardless of the ups and downs the Academy Awards have seen in recent years and the criticism it has faced, the fact of the matter is that it still remains the most prestigious event in all of cinema, and that’s unlikely to ever change. So, if like us, you, too, can’t get enough of this year’s Oscars ceremony, then you’ve landed at the right place as we’ve compiled a special list of Oscar nominees who got royally snubbed due to others being better lobbied for or in some cases, just the sentimental value acting against them. Check them out below:

Kristen Stewart – Best Actress

The Academy does this every year and this time, it was Jessica Chastain who received the “sentimental vote” for not getting the trophy on previous occasion when she was nominated. The unfortunate victim – Kristen Stewart. We’re not saying Jessica wasn’t good, she always is, but half of her performance is the amazing makeup, which richly got the Oscar, too. And Kristen completely transformed into late Princess Diana body and soul. Honestly, why don’t they just give it to those who deserve it year in and year out, so that this sentimental nonsense can be avoided.

Kirsten Dunst – Best Supporting Actress

On the other hand, Kirsten Dunst fell prey to better lobbying by the team of West Side Story for Ariana DeBose, and then, our desi audience believes it’s all merit at the Academy Awards.

Don’t Look Up – Best Original Screenplay

That Don’t Look Up, one of the best sci-fi satires of all time, didn’t win a single Oscar is a tragedy in itself. That it didn’t win one for original screenplay, given how intricate and far-reaching its story and character arcs are, is a travesty as big as the apocalyptic scenario that the film presents.

Attica – Best Documentary

Summer of Soul was certainly the more showy film, but for actual cultural relevance and injustice against the black community in America, Attica should’ve won hands down. Summer of Soul cheers you, Attica infuriates you and makes you think long after it’s over.
